Q: Who supplies the product ?
A: Vehicle security products are supplied and fitted by
Gap security. All payments for security products are made
direct to Gap security. Security text and graphics used
within this site are provided by GAP security.
Q: Will the alarm go off on its own?
A: Only if the system does not have self-adjusting sensors,
or is an inferior product, or was not fitted properly. Sometimes,
if the vehicle battery is flat, the alarm will sound.
Q: What happens if my immobiliser malfunctions?
A: Well, if you went to a local installer to get the security
fitted, you had better hope that they can get to you. It
would be beneficial if the system fitted had a secure override,
so you are not left stranded. If you used a national installer
such as GAP Security, just give them a call and they will
send an engineer to you at the roadside.
Q: Will you have to drill any holes in my car?
A: If you use GAP Security then the answer is no. All GAP
Security products are installed without the need to disrupt
dashboards.
Q: Will the insurance company recognise and accept what
has been fitted?
A: If you use GAP Security then the answer is yes. GAP Security
is VSIB accredited, which means that their engineers are
approved by the insurance industry to install security devices.
In addition, the products we fit are Thatcham approved,
meaning that the Motor Industry Repair and Research Centre
have tested them.
